Accounts Assistant (Finance) – Hybrid Working

A well-established and growing organisation within the manufacturing is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its finance team on a 12-14 month maternity cover contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to develop within a dynamic, multi-entity business supporting international operations. This role will be to start as soon as possible, interviews will be taking place next week and suitable candidates must live within a commutable distance from Huntingdon.
The Role
Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you will support the wider function to ensure accurate and timely financial processing across multiple entities.
This is a varied role offering exposure to credit control, purchase ledger, cash management, and month-end processes, with an emphasis on Bank Reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Processing financial transactions including invoices, payments and journals
2. Performing regular bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate cash records
3. Supporting month-end close activities including reporting and reconciliations
4. Managing customer accounts including credit control and debt chasing
5. Handling supplier invoices, statements and payment runs
6. Resolving queries from internal teams, customers and suppliers
7. Maintaining accurate and organised financial records
8. Assisting with audits and ad hoc finance administration
9. Working across multiple systems and group entities as required
About You
10. Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
11. Strong understanding of accounting processes and reconciliations
12. Confident using Excel and Microsoft Office
13. High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
14. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
15. Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
16. Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
