Receptionist Job description

* Shifts are between Monday and Friday 8.45am - 5.15pm with 1 hour lunch
BDP is a family run dental practice that aims to deliver a high quality of care to every patients while providing an environment where our employees can further develop their skills. BDP is a warm and welcoming practice based in Chatterton Village in Bromley.
We are seeking a professional and personable dental receptionist/s with exceptional communication skills, multitasking ability, and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient care. The ideal candidate/s will thrive in a dynamic clinical setting and serve as a welcoming first point of contact for our practice.
This role requires strong organisational skills and a keen attention to detail, as you will be responsible for managing appointments, patient records, and general administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
* Managing the front desk: greeting patients, handling calls, bookings, and managing diaries.
* Greet patients warmly as they arrive at the practice and ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
* Delivering a professional, caring, and organised reception service.
* Assisting in explaining treatment plans and finance options to patients when required.
* Liaising with the clinical team to ensure a smooth patient journey.
* Supporting follow-up communication with patients to ensure they feel informed and cared for.
* Handle incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries with professionalism and care.
* Process patient payments and manage billing inquiries efficiently.
* Acting as the first point of contact for patient queries.
* Uphold strict confidentiality standards in accordance with data protection regulations.
What we're looking for:
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload and multitask in a busy environment.
* Previous experience within a front of house, hospitality or receptionist role would be ideal for this position but not essential.
* We are happy to accept applicants from outside of dentistry, as full training can be provided.
* Results driven, with excellent attention to detail and a positive and friendly personality.
* You must be comfortable with being the first point of contact to our patients and communicate clearly, warmly and professionally.
* Proficient in using Microsoft office software and practice management systems.
* A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a willingness to learn new processes.
* Ability to work well as part of a team while also being self-motivated when required.
* A positive attitude, empathetic and well-organised.
* We are looking for 2 part time members of the team to work within the receptionist role, although a full time member would be considered depending on the candidate.
