We have a fantastic opportunity for a Catering Team Leader to join our dedicated team at Clacton Hospital. If you’re passionate about delivering exceptional food and beverage services in a healthcare environment and have strong leadership skills, this role is for you.

Salary: £27,486 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday, 07:30 – 15:30

About the role:
You’ll lead a team to provide high-quality meals, ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety standards, and manage resources effectively—all while making a positive impact on patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and lead catering staff to deliver a high-quality, cost-effective food and beverage service.
2. Manage rotas, cover absences, and oversee recruitment, induction, training, and appraisals.
3. Complete admin tasks including timesheets, absence records, stock orders, and communications.
4. Maintain hygiene standards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
5. Plan, prepare, and serve meals in line with menus and dietary requirements.
6. Manage budgets, monitor resources, and authorise purchases and timesheets.
7. Ensure accurate cash handling and record keeping.
8. Drive continuous improvement and efficiency within the catering team
Qualifications & Skills:
9. Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate
10. Health and Safety qualification
11. COSHH knowledge
12. Advanced food hygiene processes; City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
13. Strong leadership and organisational skills
14. Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations
