Our Client are an established, privately owned principal main contractor who deliver new build, refurbishment and fit out projects across the South of East of England. Having recently been awarded a £15million new build construction project based in Essex they are now looking to hire an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the business and have full ownership of this scheme.
Duties:
* Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for construction projects.
* Procure and manage subcontractor packages including issuing enquiries, analyzing quotations, and placing orders.
* Conduct monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting of final costs and sales.
* Monitor and manage project costs and commercial performance.
* Administer contract variations, claims, and change orders.
* Prepare interim and final accounts, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting.
* Attend site meetings and liaise with project teams, clients, and subcontractors.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Contribute to risk and value management processes.
* Support the resolution of contractual and commercial issues.
Requirements:
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
* Proven experience working for a main contractor on construction projects.
* Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., JCT, NEC).
