Job Overview
We are looking for a hands‑on, forward‑thinking Testing Manager to lead our move from manual testing to a modern, automation‑led approach. This role will work across our housing systems, customer portals, and mobile applications, giving the business and tech teams confidence in every change we release.
Responsibilities
* Own testing across the SDLC: set strategy, oversee all testing activities, and ensure quality is built‑in from the start.
* Drive automation: design and implement the automation framework, choose the right tools, embed automated checks into CI/CD, and release faster.
* Champion Agile ways of working: collaborate with developers, analysts, and product owners in agile teams, promote shift‑left practices, and enable continuous improvement.
* Lead and inspire: manage a team of three internal testers and coordinate external partners for comprehensive functional and non‑functional coverage.
* Make a difference: directly improve services for customers and communities, helping the organisation deliver technology that creates real social value.
Qualifications
You have a strong track record of leading and developing testing teams and solid hands‑on knowledge of defect tracking, issue resolution, and collaboration with operational and technical teams. You are comfortable in an Agile environment and committed to delivering high‑quality outcomes. It is an advantage if you also have:
* Automation skills.
* Experience with cloud technologies.
* Familiarity with ITIL.
* Experience embedding testing into CI/CD pipelines.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS check as part of the pre‑employment screening.
Benefits
* Generous time off: 28 days holiday plus bank holidays, an extra day for your birthday.
* Health and wellbeing support: cash health plan, Health MOTs, online GP access, gym discounts, and a dedicated volunteering day.
* Financial perks: car leasing options, salary sacrifice schemes, and exclusive discounts through the benefits platform.
* Future‑focused benefits: Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit pension schemes via salary sacrifice, plus life assurance at three times salary.
* Family‑friendly policies: enhanced parental leave, flexible working options, and support for work‑life balance.
* Career development: training programmes, Leadership Academy, apprenticeships, and more.
Inclusion
We are committed to creating a place where everyone feels valued, respected and able to thrive. Our recruitment process is designed to be accessible and inclusive, and we can provide reasonable adjustments at any stage.
Applicants must have current eligibility to live and work in the UK; we do not hold a sponsorship licence.
