Assistant Quantity Surveyor \n\nLiverpool - £28,000 to £35,000 + Package\n\nYour new company\n\nOur client is a well-established civil engineering and road surfacing contractor operating throughout the UK. With a strong base in the North West, they are recognised for delivering high-quality infrastructure and surfacing solutions to both public and private sector clients. With over three decades of expertise, they combine technical excellence with a hands-on approach to project delivery, ensuring consistent quality and a strong pipeline of secured work.\n\nYour new role\n\nOur client is seeking a motivated and ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Liverpool.
This role will support the delivery of highways, resurfacing, and infrastructure projects across the UK, assisting with all aspects of quantity surveying and commercial management. The successful candidate will work closely with senior QSs and project managers, gaining hands-on experience and professional development in a fast-paced, growing business.\n\nResponsibilities will include:\n\nAssisting with the preparation of valuations, cost forecasts, and project budgets\n\nSupporting the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers\n\nHelping to prepare, issue, and monitor contracts and variations\n\nGathering and managing project data for commercial reporting\n\nAttending site visits and progress meetings\n\nAssisting with interim payments and final accounts\n\nSupporting the commercial team in maintaining accurate project documentation\n\nLiaising with internal teams, clients, and supply chain partners\n\nEnsuring compliance with company procedures and commercial standards\n\nWhat you will need to succeed:\n\nSome prior experience in a commercial or QS role (internship, placement year, or post-grad experience welcome)\n\nHNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline\n\nBasic understanding of NEC and/or JCT contracts\n\nStrong communication and organisational skills\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)\n\nWillingness to learn, take initiative, and grow within the role\n\nFull UK driving licence (desirable)\n\nWhat you get in return:\n\nCompetitive salary of £28,000 - £35,000, depending on experience\n\nFull training, mentorship, and development opportunities\n\nSupport towards chartership or further qualifications if desired\n\nCompany vehicle or allowance, pension scheme, and annual leave entitlement\n\nExposure to a range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects\n\nA supportive, team-oriented environment with clear progression routes\n\nBe part of a stable and growing company with a hands-on, people-first culture\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for a developing QS to build their career in a supportive and rewarding environment.
