Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Programme Manager - SHBBV based at Afton House, Ailsa Hospital. This is a 6 month internal development opportunity.

What You Will Do

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 7 Sexual Health & BBV Programme Manager within the Public Health department. The post will be a fixed term development opportunity post with line management responsibility sitting within Public Health.

The SH&BBV Programme Manager will support the BBV and Sexual Health Executive Leads (Public Health), to lead and manage the development and delivery/implementation of the SHBBV Framework across Ayrshire & Arran to assure the effective delivery of a wide range of services to improve SHBBV outcomes.

To lead, deliver and advise on continuous improvement of services, based on published evidence, national strategy, and direction from the SHBBV Strategic Group, using Quality Improvement methodology.

To work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to plan, develop, implement, coordinate, monitor and evaluate effective mechanisms to ensure effective promotion and delivery of SHBBV services in a diverse range of healthcare and community settings.

The NHSAA BBV Programme Board and Public Health & Sexual Health Group (are multi-disciplinary, inter-agency groups, which have been established to ensure that services in the NHSAA area are of high quality, equitable, evidence-based and tailored to the needs of patients and carers. This post has key responsibilities for ensuring the BBV Programme Board and Sexual Health & Public Health Group’s aims and objectives are met and will have a critical role in building robust relationships with key clinicians, managers and service user representatives. This includes 3 Health and Social Care Partnerships, 59 GP practices, 92 community pharmacies and the voluntary sector.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job

The post holder will contribute to the effective management of identified budgets – relating to administration of the SHBBV Programme, and local service developments – and will liaise with both the finance representative and the SHBBV Executive Leads.

The post holder will be responsible for the line management and professional development for community SHBBV staff

This post holder will be expected to have a role in direct patient care involving clinical duties.

The post holder is required to lead on the following:


* Ensure co-ordination of services so that patients with different needs experience a high quality seamless service
* Ayrshire and Arran, and provide informed advice and evidence on priorities for development and investment
* Make decisions on behalf of the SHBBV Programme in conjunction with or without the Clinical Lead.
* You should also have a willingness to engage in training opportunities to enhance your knowledge base and be able to provide evidence of professional development. Experience of working in a related community setting is desirable.

37 hours per week.
