Post holder will provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy.
Experience conducting specialist assessments for neurodevelopmental concerns (e.g. ASD and ADHD) is desirable.
They will also offer advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to colleagues from all disciplines and to individuals external to CAMHS working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures. The post holder will support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by other professionals and might be required to offer supervision to other members of staff.
The Candidate will utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the areas served by the services. Also, will work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of one’s psychological practice
Main duties of the job
To work as a member of the multi-disciplinary CAMH service for children and young people, within the clinical governance structures and protocols of the service.
To undertake generic and specialist psychological and neuropsychological assessments of children and families referred to the service based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests (including WISC-V, ADOS-2, 3Di etc.), self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client’s care.
The post holder will formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of emotional and behavioural disorders in children young people and families, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the client’s problems, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy, across the full range of care settings.
To actively participate in CAMHS additional areas of practice (participation, SEND, IPC, Health and Safety, Clinical work discussions etc.). This role will involve leading on one of these areas.

We aim to provide an accessible and responsive service using a whole range of therapeutic interventions which includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, behaviour analysis, systemic and family therapies, psychotherapy, GBI among others.
The service consists of 4 main sub-teams: Emotional Disorders Team; Neurodevelopmental Team; Enhanced Treatment Team; and the under 5s Team. Our clinic is opened from 8am to 5pm. Although the standard working hours are 9am to 5pm, we will always consider applications for flexible working and compressed hours. There will be opportunities for home working, but clinicians will be expected to be in the clinic at least 60% of their working hours. The post holder may be required to travel to other parts of the catchment area and / or wider service and trust as necessary.

To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical, environmental and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family or group.
The post holder will be providing care to clients to liaise and work with family members and others involved in the client’s care, including CAMHS colleagues, frontline workers in health, education, Social Services, inpatients services and the voluntary sector. The applicant will exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of clients whose problems are managed by psychologically based standard care plans. You will be expected To provide specialist psychological and / or mental health advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, contributing to clients’ formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.

Education And Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuro- psychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology
* HCPC Registration as Practitioner Psychologist: Clinical Psychologist
* Other training that can be consider equivalent to the above will be considered, including counselling psychology qualifications
Desirable criteria
* Post-qualification training in additional CAMHS related specialized work
* Recent Safeguarding children training
* CYP IAPT Training
* Qualification in core mental health or social welfare profession (e.g. social work, mental health nursing, psychology, occupational therapy) and significant post qualification experience
* Trained in ADOS, 3DI and other specialist assessments

* Post qualification experience of working within a multidisciplinary team and preferably CAMHS team
* Experience of Community based clinical work Experience of offering consultation to external agencies in the community.
* Experience of working with complex cases

* Able to deliver parent training and groups
* Experience of developing and delivering clinical training to colleagues

* Fluent in an additional language
* Experience in supervising as a family therapist
