About the job


Salary: £12.45 - £12.65 per hour (plus enhancements)

Enhancements: Weekend working - Time & a half, Bank Holidays - Double time & Night enhancement (8pm - 10pm shifts)
Working Pattern: 16 hours per week (shifts on a 4 week rota)

Contract Length: Permanent
Location: Tozer House, Chichester

To become a Support Worker with us you will be:

5. Ensure people have opportunity to be involved in/Co-produce every aspect of their care and support.

Key Skills: (These will be used as the shortlisting criteria)

8. You are able to interpret information, such as service complaints, and redirect them to the appropriate person to provide quick and accurate resolution.
9. Good communication and interpersonal skills
10. You will show the ability to deal appropriately with expressive behaviour from the people we support, and respond sensitively to their families and carers.
11. Confident in building relationships with people from a wide variety of cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds.
12. Enjoy working as part of a team completing shared tasks as required.

Qualifications and/ experience:

13. Basic literacy and numeracy skills, in order to record and document activities in the provider plans.
14. Basic understanding of the needs of the people we support and their rights as an individual.
15. Demonstrable successful experience of working as part of a team.
16. Knowledge of Health and Safety practice, First Aid and Fire procedure, Manual Handling - Desirable
17. NVQ 2/Diploma in Care or equivalent qualification - Desirable
18. Previous experience of working in a care setting and with people who have a disability or are vulnerable - Desirable
19. Previous experience of running group activities - Desirable

About Tozer House

The people we support are involved in a range of activities in their local community that keep everyone connected with the neighbourhood.

Activities include:

20. Voluntary work with the Chichester Canal Trust
21. Volunteering at the Cinnamon Trust with dog
22. Taking part in educational talks at Chichester College and the county’s schools
23. Joining the Community Art Project at Pallant House
24. Volunteering at Crimsham Farm
