Join us as a Radiation Shielding Consultant. The role As a Radiation Shielding Consultant, you’ll be a shielding analyst supporting our Shielding Discipline Lead in delivering innovative technical solutions across various projects. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to determine shielding requirements, ensure methodology consistency, and support project stakeholders. You will also contribute to improving our radiation protection procedures. Responsibilities include developing radiation models, performing calculations for shielding design, dose assessments, and neutron activation analysis. Prepare high-quality shielding reports and calculations, verifying work by others. Supervise and mentor junior technical specialists. Work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams to identify shielding challenges and deliver expert support. Help develop and refine shielding procedures and best practices. This full-time role is 37 hours per week, adaptable, with hybrid working (two days in the office weekly). Possible locations include Bristol, Leicester, Newbury, Warrington, Preston, Cumbria, or Humberside. Essential Experience Candidates at Senior or Principal level are considered. Senior candidates will have development opportunities toward the Principal role. Proven expertise in radiation shielding with relevant experience. Knowledge of radiation transport codes. Leadership skills to guide technical teams. Interdisciplinary collaboration experience. Experience designing processes and facilities from concept to implementation. Qualifications Degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline. Security Clearance The candidate must obtain and maintain SC security clearance.
