At Fish Brothers, we’ve been helping the people of Swindon with their motoring needs for more than 75 years. As a multi-franchise dealer group, we’re proud of our strong reputation, but it’s our people who make the real difference. We believe in creating a supportive and rewarding workplace where talent can thrive, and where going the extra mile for our customers comes naturally. Many of our team have built long and successful careers with us and now we’re looking for the next person to join our journey.
We are seeking a WordPress & WooCommerce Assistant with SEO and analytics experience to join our team. This role will focus primarily on managing, maintaining, and optimising a portfolio of high-traffic, WordPress-based ecommerce websites, selling car parts online such as:
* lexuspartsdirect.co.uk
* skodapartsdirect.co.uk
These websites handle large product catalogues, high daily traffic volumes, and complex customer journeys, so a strong understanding of WordPress, WooCommerce, and performance-driven ecommerce is essential.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident working hands-on with WordPress, enjoys solving technical challenges, and is motivated by improving website performance, user experience, and digital growth.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm ( a 1-hour unpaid lunch break).
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with managing and maintaining multiple high-traffic WordPress & WooCommerce ecommerce websites, ensuring performance, stability, and scalability.
* Be actively involved in all WordPress Projects, including planning, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimisation.
* Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve website issues efficiently across live ecommerce platforms.
* Support and assist with training and onboarding team members on WordPress, WooCommerce, and internal workflows.
* Help manage the technical aspects of the WordPress CMS, with a focus on performance, security, and long‑term maintainability.
* Implement and maintain SEO best practices, including on‑page optimisation, technical SEO, site structure, and performance improvements.
* Ensure accurate tracking of customer journeys using Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager, and related tools.
* Monitor, analyse, and report on website performance, using data to inform recommendations and improvements.
* Maintain clear documentation and ensure adherence to company processes.
* Stay up to date with WordPress, WooCommerce, SEO, and analytics developments to support continuous improvement.
Required and Desirable Skills or Experience
* Strong working knowledge of WordPress and WooCommerce, including configuration, optimisation, and day‑to‑day management.
* Experience working with high‑traffic WordPress ecommerce websites, ideally with large product catalogues.
* Knowledge of SEO best practices, including technical SEO, Core Web Vitals, and structured data.
* Hands‑on experience with Google Analytics (GA4), Tag Manager, and conversion tracking.
* Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while meeting deadlines.
* Experience with PHP development, including modifying or creating custom plugins (desirable).
* Familiarity with APIs, automation, server environments, caching, and performance optimisation tools (desirable).
About You
