Description Overview We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our team in Hemel Hempstead. Reporting to the Contract Manager the successful applicant will be accountable to ensure effective running of the Hemel Hempstead Warehouse and the southern out bases. The role will assume responsibility for the performance of the site including Health & Safety, achieving contractual KPI’s and managing a team to ensure they deliver excellent service and continuous improvement. Shifts - Monday to Friday (flexibility required as per operational needs) Salary - £50k to £53k DOE How will you contribute? Deliver the operation consistently exceeding the customer’s requirements both in terms of service to customers, KPI’s and operational standards. Provide leadership, motivation, and career development to the contract team, ensuring they achieve operational excellence on a day-to-day basis. Act as the operational lead for Clients, support the client with operational issues and carry out Period reviews with clients. Deliver a culture of efficiency and continuous improvement by utilizing the most appropriate methodology on a consistent basis Accountable for driving high levels of employee engagement. Operate in an Open and Closed book environment where decisions and performance are under scrutiny at regular formal customer reviews. Ensure the best talent is in place to deliver business objectives and deliver a robust succession plan for current and future key roles. Ensure that a best-in-class HSE performance is achieved within the site and that a culture of safety in everything we do is embedded. What will you bring? Relevant, well-rounded experience in a Warehouse environment at a management level and be able to clearly demonstrate previous achievements. Customer focus with well-developed negotiation and influencing skills. Knowledge of Transport environment and understanding of that area of the operation. Able to demonstrate the commitment, enthusiasm, and flexibility to be able to respond to seasonal customer demand and be able to see the customer’s business from their perspective Proven track record in delivering innovative performance improvements and operational excellence. Understand key drivers to achieve high levels of employee engagement and uses these to deliver high performance. Understands how to use IT / technology to drive performance.
