Permanent – Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Here at Lovell, we are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join us and work on schemes across Bristol, Bridgwater, and Taunton.
The successful candidate will provide valuable support to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Quantity Surveyor by assisting in the day-to-day financial and cost control, as well as reporting on one or more developments from the award stage up to and including the completion of client and sub-contract final accounts, recovery/discharge of all retentions, and completion of archive material.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting in project cost control procedures, particularly re-measurement of works/variations, inventories of stocks, and evaluation of the interim/final accounts.
* Supporting effective management of cash, including administration of sub-contractor accounts as directed by SQS/QS, fostering effective relationships and promoting dispute avoidance.
* Assisting in the compilation and maintenance of sub-contract databases and details.
* Supporting the establishment of procurement programmes and enquiry lists with the SQS/QS.
* Participating in project team meetings with internal and external members as required.
About you
With previous experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the housing industry, you will have construction knowledge and understanding of contract administration and contractual obligations. Competency in COINS would be highly beneficial.
