Electrical Estimator
📍 King’s Cross, London
I’m working with a long-established, family-owned business who are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their structured and growing estimating team.
This is a great opportunity to join a highly reputable contractor delivering a wide range of building services projects, where you’ll work closely with the Electrical Estimating Manager and play a key role in producing accurate, compliant, and competitive tenders.
The Role:
As Electrical Estimator, you’ll be responsible for managing the full tendering process from initial enquiry through to submission. You’ll interpret drawings and specifications, carry out detailed take-offs, and produce high-quality estimates using Amtech (Estimation) and Trimble ContractMaster.
You’ll also be responsible for issuing and managing enquiries, analysing subcontractor quotations, and ensuring all submissions are technically correct and commercially robust. The role will involve attending site visits and client meetings where required, so strong communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the Electrical Estimating Manager and wider estimating team
• Interpret drawings, specifications, and employer’s requirements
• Accurately measure and take off quantities from drawings
• Produce detailed estimates using Amtech (Estimation) and Trimble ContractMaster
• Issue enquiries and analyse returned quotations
• Ensure tenders are fully compliant and commercially competitive
• Attend site surveys, client meetings, and handover meetings where required
About You:
• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within building services, construction, or engineering
• Strong technical understanding of electrical services
• Experience using estimating software such as Amtech (Estimation)
• Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tenders
• Strong communication skills and confident working within a team environment
• Relevant qualifications (City & Guilds, ONC/HNC/HND or equivalent)
The Business:
This is a company that genuinely values its people. Being family-owned, they place as much importance on attitude and character as they do on technical ability. They look for individuals who are honest, reliable, transparent, and trustworthy.
That culture is reflected in their retention, it’s not uncommon to see people staying with the business for 10–30 years. This isn’t a place for short-term moves; it’s somewhere people build long-term careers in a stable, supportive environment.
What’s on Offer:
• £80,000 + benefits package
• Hybrid working - 2 days from home every week
• Clear opportunities for progression and development
• Supportive and collaborative team culture
• Ongoing training and cross-training opportunities
• Long-term career stability within a well-established business
