The Department of Histopathology is seeking to appoint a registered Biomedical Scientist with recent experience in a wide range of techniques and histology specialties. We welcome applications from enthusiastic candidates to join our expanding and evolving laboratory.
We will consider candidates seeking a trainee position; salary and banding will be based on experience.
The successful candidate should have experience in most aspects of the Histopathology Laboratory. Training will be provided where necessary. The department operates between 08:30 and 17:00, with a rota for early embedding duties from 7:30 am. Candidates should be willing to work full-time hours within these times.
The department processes approximately 16,000 requests annually and is equipped with Epredia tissue processors and Ventana Benchmark Ultra immunostainers. Procedures include routine surgical cut-up, immunohistochemistry, skin immunofluorescence, frozen section, and joint fluid analysis. We have two digital pathology scanners and are moving towards an end-to-end digital solution. Work is tracked using Roche’s Vantage system, and the department benefits from Navify analytics.
