UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL NHS FOUNDATION TRUSTUROLOGY CLINICAL FELLOWSURGERY - UROLOGYAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Urology Junior Clinical Fellow ST3+to join our Urology Department. Start date October .The post is based at Royal Bournemouth Hospital, and is suitable for candidates who have a keen interest in a urological career, who would like to build on their experience of Urology surgery, with significant emergency and elective training. The successful candidate will be able to join the Urology Service and work within a 1:8 oncall rota alongside SPR peers with Consultant supervision.Successful candidates will have full support from their teams and supervisors so they can gain the appropriate experience and knowledge in elective and emergency surgery and progress into the next step of their careers. This will include access to clinics, theatre, procedure rooms, MDT, on calls and ward rounds in both elective and emergency settings. We have excellent working relationships with intervention radiology and general surgery for any potential cross specialty learning. The full educational programme will be discussed and adjusted at the beginning of the placement to meet the post takers’ training needs. Educational supervision will be available and study leave provided to support the development of your career. We have an excellent recent history of junior trainees moving onto NTN training. Main duties of the job The appointee will participate in a 1 in 8 on-call rota for Urology, fully supported by a Urology Consultant of the Week. This includes non-resident night cover.Elective training outside of on-call commitments will include a mixture of day case and major surgery lists, supervised outpatient clinics, and diagnostic sessions for flexi-cystoscopy, precision point prostate biopsy and urodynamics.The post will have appropriate secretarial support and shared office space within the secretariat, with admin time provided.
