We are seeking a commanding and experienced Head Teacher to lead a specialist school in South Yorkshire supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This role is suited to a strong, values-driven leader who sets clear expectations, drives standards, and leads from the front.
About the Role of Head Teacher:
As Head Teacher, you will act as the strategic and operational lead for the school, setting vision, direction, and culture. You will work confidently with staff, governors, trustees, and external partners to deliver an outstanding SEMH provision that transforms pupils' educational outcomes and long-term life chances.
Key Responsibilities as Head Teacher:
Strategic Leadership: Set a clear vision, direction, and high expectations across the school.
Operational Command: Ensure the school is efficiently managed, compliant, and well-organised.
Quality of Provision: Drive high standards in teaching, learning, behaviour, and safeguarding.
People Leadership: Lead, motivate, and hold staff to account through clear structures and performance management.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work effectively with parents, local authorities, external agencies, and trust leadership.To succeed as Head Teacher, you will need:
Proven senior leadership experience, ideally within SEMH, SEN, or specialist education.
Strong strategic thinking with the ability to make firm, confident decisions.
A visible leadership presence with clear, direct communication.
A deep understanding of safeguarding, behaviour systems, and inclusive practice.
