Job Duties
Duties include, but not limited to:
1. Teaching student-athletes the fundamentals and mechanics of football; evaluating and recruiting potential student-athletes; organizing and conducting team practices.
2. Performing administrative and public relations duties; and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will be a position coach.
3. The successful candidate will travel for both recruiting and team travel.
4. The work schedule requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
5. The physical requirement for work is medium demand, including lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent carrying/lifting objects.
6. The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure compliance with NSU, Commonwealth of Virginia, NCAA, and MEAC rules, regulations, and policies.
Minimum Qualifications
7. Candidate must have a degree in higher education or equivalent professional playing experience.
8. Minimum of three years of coaching experience or a combination of five years of coaching and collegiate playing experience.
9. Demonstrated experience with recruiting.
10. Demonstrated experience with student-athlete development.
11. Proven record of adherence to NCAA academic and compliance regulations.
12. A successful criminal background check is required.
Additional Considerations
13. Previous coaching experience or professional playing experience.
14. Minimum three- five years of coaching at the FBS or FCS level.
15. Master’s degree.
