About the Role Our Catastrophic Personal Injury and Large Loss team covers every aspect of a claim, including liability investigations, policy coverage assessments, quantum assessments for all levels of Multi-Track claims. This role will involve handling a case load of motor files, with values in excess of £50,000 up to £250,000 with the prospect of handling cases up to £500,000. We are looking for an experienced lawyer who is looking for the next step in their career to work as part of an existing team. They will be able to hit the ground running and work with a degree of autonomy. There are endless opportunities for career development. You will be able to develop client contact and relationships through delivering training and assisting with case clinics. Mentoring/supporting the NQ in the team and junior members of the wider team would also form part of the remit of this role and it is encouraged to complete your own advocacy. This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding team within our multi-award-winning firm. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a drive to succeed and develop their career as a Senior Associate and should ideally have experience of handling cases which fall in the intermediate track. However, transferable skills gained in a Claimant environment would also be considered. The level of PQE for this role is flexible as we are looking for the right level of experience and skill set and encourage applications from all candidates who feel they meet the brief. Key Responsibilities Working with all members of the team and you will be exposed to a variety of work, but predominantly acting on behalf of a range of insurance companies and self-insured commercial organisations. Handling a caseload of motor and indemnity cases. Carrying out investigations with live defenders and taking witness statements, reviewing and interpreting medical records and medical reports. Identifying information requirements and securing required documentation/evidence from claimant representatives Adhering to reporting and reserving requirements in relation to different client SLAs File Management - including initial reports, updating reports and correspondence Attending and appearing at court and pre-trial meetings, and adhering to court timetables You will support the Partners in servicing existing clients, growing new business and maintaining relationships with clients using technical excellence and innovation Drafting of all legal documents and client advice. Dealing with interlocutory proceedings, CMCs and client meetings Supporting marketing and business development activity with the team and the wider Clyde & Co casualty group Essential Skills and Experience You will be a highly determined individual able to adapt well within a demanding, fast-paced team. You will have experience of personal injury litigation, the intermediate track and handling your own case load You will enjoy being challenged by complex legal issues and expanding your knowledge. You will be focussed on delivering a highly professional service to clients, including compliance with client SLAs and MI requirements.
