As a Design Engineer based in Staffordshire (hybrid, two days on site), youll guide concepts into robust, manufacturable products for a well-known UK brand. Scope of the Role
As a Design Engineer, youll add technical judgement early, then own delivery through manufacture. Youll work with industrial design, suppliers, and stakeholders to reduce risk and move faster.
* Develop products from concept to manufacture.
* Assess feasibility, trade-offs, risk, and delivery routes.
* Produce CAD, drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
* Apply DFM across plastics, metals, and assemblies.
* Engage UK and international suppliers through sampling and pre-production.
Key Skills and Experience Required
1. Proven Design Engineer, Product Design Engineer, or Mechanical Design Engineer on physical consumer products.
2. End-to-end NPD, from early concept to release.
3. Strong DFM judgement, cost/quality trade-offs, supplier collaboration.
4. Communicate trade-offs clearly to non-engineers.
