Overview
Job summary: An exciting opportunity within the Criminal Justice & Liaison & Diversion (CJLD) service for a qualified Nurse to join the team. The role will work across CJLD with a focus on the Mental Health Treatment Requirement (MHTR) pathway, alongside colleagues in the Probation and Courts Service.
CJLD aims to improve health and justice outcomes for adults in contact with criminal justice systems, addressing complex needs that influence offending behaviour. CJLD is integrated with justice and health, social and voluntary support agencies, developing initiatives across related projects and programmes.
MHTR is one of three court-ordered treatment options and is designed to help people with mental health difficulties engage with treatment while receiving a sentence. The MHTR pathway delivers this treatment under the direction of the Clinical Psychologist, providing an inclusive, psychologically led service with psychosocial interventions as part of court-ordered community sentences.
Main duties of the job
* You will join a dedicated team who make a difference to patients, carers and the teams you work with.
* You will contribute to the effective running of the MHTR pathway by being a motivated and supportive team member. You will deliver evidence-based assessment and intervention and support the patient’s recovery journey.
* You will show a good balance of initiation and seeking support and direction.
* For MHTR this will involve working with agreed case formulations and plans of care, ensuring models of psychological intervention are evidence based and relevant. You will liaise with and develop robust relationships with partner agencies, and be involved in overall CSTR process evaluation and development, requiring collaborative work.
* As this service area is in development, there is a great opportunity, under the guidance and supervision of the clinical psychologist, to help develop the pathway, directing and enabling new ways of working that cross traditional professional and cultural boundaries and foster relationships with internal and external partners.
