Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Good General Education
Desirable criteria
2. Pathology Support Worker qualification or further scientific qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
3. Able to work accurately and with good hand-eye co-ordination.
4. Computer keyboard skills
5. Experience of laboratory support, working as part of a team
Desirable criteria
6. Previous experience as an MLA
7. Previous knowledge of hospital IT systems
8. Experience of data entry
Technical Skills
Essential criteria
9. Capable of working effectively either independently, or as part of a team
10. Must be able to understand and work within established Standard Operating Procedures and relevant Health & Safety policies, including COSHH
11. Recognises and reports problems as they arise
12. Handling biological specimens
13. Works within limits of responsibility
Desirable criteria
14. Understand the importance of quality at all levels of our work
Knowledge
Essential criteria
15. An understanding of Cellular Pathology
Desirable criteria
16. Understand the role of Histopathology within the NHS.
