Job Description
As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals who require assistance with their daily living activities. Your responsibilities include assisting residents with personal care, promoting their well‑being, supporting during mealtimes and ensuring their comfort and safety. This role requires empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those you care for.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating, while respecting their dignity and preferences.
* Provide support with transferring, walking, and mobility aids as needed, to ensure safety and independence.
* Serve nutritious meals and snacks, adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences.
* Engage in meaningful conversations, provide emotional support, and encourage social interaction.
* Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying to maintain a clean and safe environment. Make and change beds, mattresses and bed linen.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided, changes in the resident's condition, and other relevant information.
* Identify and mitigate potential hazards and follow established safety protocols.
* Communicate regularly with healthcare professionals, residents' families, and care team leaders to provide updates on the resident's well‑being.
* Report to your Line Manager any changes or deterioration observed in the health or general condition of residents, any personal or emotional problems, and any matter that could affect overall wellbeing.
* Attend team meetings and training sessions as required.
* Collaborate with team members from all departments to deliver activities and lifestyle programmes.

* Understanding of and commitment to maintaining resident confidentiality.
* Basic knowledge of healthcare procedures and safety protocols.
