Overview
The post holder will be a member of the PPU administrative Team. Reporting to the Assistant Service Manager or Administration Supervisor and accountable to the Service Manager.
The post holder will be responsible for the smooth-running of the Private Patients Unit (PPU), ensuring the professional and effective coordination of all private patient appointments, admissions, day cases and diagnostics.
They will identify and action barriers to optimal patient journeys and system flow from point of admission to follow-up and discharge. They will work in partnership with colleagues within the Private Patients Unit and other departments and sites to provide a seamless service to patients and other key stakeholders accessing services, and will capture and record patient information and clinical treatment information as documented in our Standard Operating Procedures.
They will build strong working relationships with all PPU stakeholders to deliver a positive experience to private patients.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate the Private Patients Unit's administration services and daily functions, ensuring smooth operation.
* Manage private patient appointments, admissions, day cases and diagnostics in a professional and efficient manner.
* Identify barriers to patient flow and take action to optimise journeys from admission to discharge.
* Collaborate with colleagues within the Private Patients Unit and other departments/sites to provide a seamless service to patients and stakeholders.
* Capture and record patient information and clinical treatment information in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with PPU stakeholders to enhance the patient experience.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience as a Private Administration Co-ordinator or in private coordination and administration, preferably within an NHS environment.
* Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
* Ability to work collaboratively with a range of staff, patients, consultants and the wider PPU team.
