Responsibilities
* Carry out and document chemical and physical laboratory testing of products, including work-in-progress and finished goods, following established methods and work instructions.
* Perform tests accurately and promptly, ensuring all results are properly recorded and reported in accordance with strict methodologies.
* Report non-conformances to standards immediately to the Laboratory Leader, Quality Teams, or Production, and record corrective actions taken.
* Conduct and record internal calibration checks of laboratory equipment and instruments at required intervals.
* Store retained/shelf-life samples effectively for traceability and testing purposes.
* Participate in investigations related to product issues and customer complaints.
* Maintain laboratory reagents, tools, and instruments in proper condition and report issues promptly.
* Operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment such as titrators, pipetting machines, and pH meters.
* Perform additional tasks relevant to the department as assigned by managers.
* Adhere to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and follow all documented procedures related to HACCP, ISO standards, hygiene, and EHS.
* Follow safety procedures rigorously and complete all safety checks.
* Conduct drinking and wastewater analyses according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Report problems to Lab Supervisors and staff, and provide advice on quality issues.
* Perform sanitation and hygiene testing to ensure compliance with company and local authority standards.
* Validate and verify test methods regularly.
* Participate in food safety activities during shifts.
Qualifications
Measures:
* Daily calibration of laboratory equipment.
* Daily reporting of any equipment defects to the Chemist.
* Report problems to the Supervisor, coordinating with the Purchasing Department regarding raw materials.
* Monitor weak links in processes to achieve targeted product quality levels, such as reducing seasoning or potato defects.
* Track and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
* Participate in internal and external audits.
Skills:
* Educational background in Food Technology, Agricultural Sciences, or related fields; other qualifications are acceptable if supported by relevant training.
* Good communication skills and proficiency in English.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* High accuracy and attention to detail.
* Commitment to internal and external customer satisfaction.
* Familiarity with international food safety and quality standards.
