Health Care Support Worker - Gwion Ward - Male Only
Full time post for Healthcare Support Worker on Ty Llywelyn Medium Secure Unit. To provide person-centred care to service users within forensic mental health inpatient services under the supervision of registered nurses within a clinical team that adheres to best practice, standards and health board policies contributing to the recovery focussed care of the service user.
Responsibilities
* Assist the registered nurse in carrying out day-to-day care of individuals, ensuring holistic needs are met in conjunction with other disciplines.
* Assist the registered nurse in providing a high and consistent level of holistic care, maintaining the dignity and equality of the individual. This includes direct care.
* Observe and monitor changes in individuals' behaviour, physical condition and social interaction, and report any changes to the nurse in charge.
* Maintain the dignity and equality of the individual through a consistent level of holistic care.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of working with patients with dementia
* Experience of working in an acute inpatient setting
Knowledge and/or qualifications
* Knowledge of mental health issues
* Willing to undertake NVQ level 3
