This post is based in the Throughcare Aftercare service in Moray.
\n
To provide, arrange and co-ordinate assessed social work and other services for young people who are in care or beyond if deemed in best interest of young person.
\n
Provide a social work service to young people who transfer to Throughcare Aftercare whilst still deemed LAC.
\n
Work in collaboration with other statutory agencies and organisations.
\n
Within this collaborative framework, assist in the identification of local need and participate in the design and delivery of appropriate services.
Responsibilities
To work directly with young people to promote their wellbeing.
\n
Work alongside colleagues in Fostering, Kinship and Supported Lodgings and other agencies and organisations.
\n
To participate in the development, monitoring and evaluation of services for children, young people and their families.
The Individual
Experience within child care/child protection setting.
\n
Experience of working with young people looked after away from home.
\n
A Degree/CQSW/Diploma in Social Work and SSSC Registration.
\n
Knowledge of, and ability to work effectively within, relevant child care legislation and practice.
\n
Good assessment and report writing skills.
\n
Good communication and mediation skills including with children.
\n
Effective organisational and time management skills.
\n
Knowledge of the needs of children with disrupted lives.
\n
Ability to challenge practice appropriately.
\n
Ability to contribute to service development.
\n
Ability to work effectively with colleagues and other agency staff.
\n
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van.
\n
Effective communication skills; oral and written.
\n
Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to service development.
\n
Ability to deal with personal stress, and support carers in crisis.
\n
Be reliable and consistent.
\n

Willingness to accept direction/delegation.
\n

Ability to work in different offices dependent on service requirements.

Post holder to have a clean full driving licence and use of/access to a car.

Starting salary: £43,204.20 (pro-rata)
