Job Opportunity: Psychology Graduates – SEN Support Roles Full-Time | Wirral | Immediate Start Available Are you a Psychology graduate looking to take your first step into the education sector? Do you have a passion for supporting young people with special educational needs (SEN), including SEMH, ASD, and ADHD ? A group of alternative provision schools across the Wirral are seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and compassionate Psychology graduates to join their supportive teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a practical setting while making a real difference to the lives of young people. What You’ll Be Doing Supporting students with a range of SEN needs, including SEMH, ASD, and ADHD. Using your Psychology background to better understand and respond to individual needs. Building strong, trusting relationships that help students feel safe, supported, and engaged. Managing challenging behaviour with confidence and resilience. Assisting in the creation and delivery of personalised learning plans (IEPs). Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies. Monitoring progress and providing constructive feedback to support student development. What We’re Looking For A degree in Psychology (or a closely related field). Genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEN. Understanding of SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and associated learning needs. Excellent communication, empathy, and relationship-building skills. Confidence in managing behaviour in a calm and positive way. Desirable (but not essential) Experience working with SEN students or in an educational environment. Additional SEN-related training or qualifications. Patience, resilience, and a nurturing personality.
