To provide educational support in order to provide highly specialist nursing care support to acutely unwell patients on the Older Persons Admissions Unit, interpreting test results precisely and accurately, make judgements and recommendations on the findings.
Act as a resource for staff in this speciality Elderly Care Admissions Unit, offer expert tuition, support and guidance to nursing staff caring for acutely unwell patients and their families, sharing extensive knowledge of specialist conditions with others. This role demands expert knowledge gained through extensive clinical experience.
To act as a role model both educationally and clinically ensuring standards are met in clinical practice. To be professionally accountable in clinical practice without direct supervision.
To be highly skilled and dextrous, working with technical equipment.
To have the technical expertise to act as a trainer for medical devices and equipment, training nursing staff to ensure safety and competence in practice, thereby addressing issues of clinical risk.

1. NMC registration adults- relevant experience

4. Experience as a registered nurse within acute care.
5. Experience in supervising and facilitating both pre- registered student and staff nurses in practice.
