As our company grows and develops, we are ever expanding our teams. We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Associate Director to join our Advisory Division.
SOCOTEC Advisory is a chartered quantity surveying and expert witness consultancy, renowned for its team of industry-recognised experts and delivery of robust and quality services. Our team is made up of approximately 60 Quantity Surveyors with a broad spectrum of experience. This allows the delivery of services across most sectors, including residential, infrastructure and marine, in both public and private sectors and enables expertise to be shared across the company.
The Associate supports the Director and Forensic Expert Witness (FEW) team in managing commissions, contributing to solutions and reporting findings both internally and externally. The Associate plays a vital role in optimising utilisation and value creation for the FEW team while developing their own expert witness capabilities under supervision. The Associate also contributes to team administration, promotion of the SOCOTEC brand and services, and champions the company's goals and values.
The Associate helps ensure projects are delivered within budget, on time, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Team Support and Development:
* Support senior team members in day-to-day operations and project delivery
* Assist in managing team workload under supervision
* Contribute to achieving project deliverables within budget
* Support in meeting client and internal deadlines
* Foster collaborative working within the high-performing team environment
Expert Witness Services Support:
* Assist in dispute resolution proceedings under supervision
* Support senior colleagues in expert witness appointments
* Develop skills and experience towards building expert witness capabilities
* Learn from testifying experts to build foundation knowledge
Analysis and Documentation:
* Conduct critical review and analysis of construction project records under guidance
* Assist in producing analyses and communicating findings internally and externally in clear and objective form
* Support in the selection and implementation of assessment methodologies
* Review records from dispute resolution proceedings, including witness statements and expert reports, under supervision
Report Writing and Communication:
* Assist in drafting expert reports, notes and external communications
* Participate in internal and external client meetings as directed
* Support senior colleagues in client communications
Project Management and Collaboration:
* Support liaison with internal and external stakeholders
* Contribute to developing solutions and strategies for project objectives
* Assist in the development of proposals under guidance
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
* Support quality assurance processes through testing and peer-reviews
* Ensure all activities comply with relevant regulations, standards and best practices
* Maintain high standards in all work outputs
Professional Development and Business Development:
* Undertake training, CPD, and other activities to develop technical and managerial skills
* Attend marketing events, client events, seminars and lectures to build technical knowledge and relationships while promoting SOCOTEC Advisory's brand
Administrative Requirements:
* Regularly and accurately record and describe time spent in day-to-day activities using the required platform
