Purpose of the role
To establish and nurture profitable partnerships with both corporate and individual clients. It is the bridge between the bank's offerings and clients' needs, ensuring mutual benefit and long-term success.
Responsibilities
* Acquire and onboard high-value business clients.
* Drive growth through strategic relationship management.
* Engage in market outreach to secure new business opportunities.
* Manage a portfolio of clients, supporting their business ambitions for expansion by leveraging Barclays' full suite of tools, products, and networks.
* Deliver tailored solutions to meet client needs and increase revenue potential.
* Identify clients' financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance.
* Analyze data from various sources, including investment portfolio and cash flow, to identify trends, insights, areas for improvement and additional services.
* Research and understand clients' industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations.
* Design customised solutions that address clients' needs and objectives, incorporating range of products and services from the bank's portfolio.
* Communicate value proposition, justify recommendations, and negotiate terms beneficial to both client and bank.
* Provide guidance to clients on financial decisions, offering investment advice, risk management, wealth management strategies, and updates on market trends.
* Assess financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships, implementing measures to minimise potential losses.
* Document all client interactions, transactions, and agreements to ensure transparency and auditability, and communicate findings effectively to support product development and overall bank strategy.
* Monitor client satisfaction, revenue generated, and other relevant metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of relationship management efforts.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in client relationship management, cultivating trusted client relationships to advance strategic objectives.
* Ability to manage stakeholders cross-functionally at various seniority levels.
* Sound knowledge of control and risk frameworks.
* Leveraging knowledge in the innovation economy to identify and originate new business opportunities.
* Understanding of the innovation economy landscape, including prominent sectors, with a focus on funding, scaling, and operational challenges of high-growth businesses.
* Project management skills.
* Experience originating and executing lending opportunities to support growth and expand market presence.
* Strong risk and controls management, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology skills.
