About the role As a Network Voice Field Engineer, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and supporting Southern Water’s data and voice network across a diverse range of sites, including water treatment plants, pumping stations, aquifers, and reservoirs. You’ll work within the Network Operations team, providing hands-on technical support and ensuring reliable connectivity for critical infrastructure. What you will be responsible for: Troubleshooting connectivity issues across ADSL, Satellite, GSM, and LTE technologies. Liaise with third-party contractors and ensure compliance with Southern Water’s health and safety procedures. Provide technical and remote support for fault identification, diagnostics, and resolution. Install and commission network routers and switches at Southern Water sites and monitoring stations. Perform routine maintenance and operations on site equipment in line with company guidelines. Maintain accurate site communications documentation and ensure data is accessible to relevant teams. What you’ll bring to the role: Essential Solid networking experience with IP, data, and transmission technologies. Ability to troubleshoot both analogue and IP systems using a structured, logical approach. Health and safety awareness and general IT hardware knowledge. Full UK driving licence. Desirable Experience in field operations within mobile or telecommunications networks. Familiarity with voice technology and remote triage processes.
