We are looking for a dynamic, flexible and experienced registered nurse/ midwife to provide operational leadership in relation to all aspects of infection prevention and control at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital.
You will work alongside other members of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Team to drive and support the IPC agenda.
Although the base for this post is the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, the post holder will be expected to work from any site within the Health Board depending on the needs of the service.
If you possess a Master's qualification in IPC or possess equivalent knowledge, skills and experience relevant to the role, we would like to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
* Actively participate in the development and delivery of the Health Board's infection prevention and control strategy.
* Have line management and professional responsibility for the IPC Nursing team.
* Develop and maintain close working relationships with the Lead IPC Nurse/Doctor and other multidisciplinary staff across the HB to ensure delivery of excellent standards of IPC.
* With support of the Lead/ Deputy Lead IPCN, the post holder will provide effective leadership across Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB on an operational level, providing expert clinical advice to clinical and non-clinical areas in relation to all IPC issues and decontamination.

* NMC registration
* Nursing degree or equivalent experience
* Masters qualification in IPC or possess equivalent knowledge, skills and experience relevant to role
* Clear interest and understanding of IPC
* Teaching qualification
Experience
* Significant experience in infection prevention and control as a band 6 or relevant transferable experience in quality improvement initiatives
