Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in providing an inclusive and engaging learning environment for students, particularly those with special needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, including those with autism and other disabilities, and will be committed to fostering a positive educational experience for all learners.
Duties
* Assist the lead teacher in delivering lessons and educational activities tailored to the needs of students, including those with special educational needs.
* Support students in their daily tasks, ensuring they are engaged and participating fully in classroom activities.
* Provide individualised support to students with autism and other disabilities, helping them to achieve their personal learning goals.
* Foster a nurturing environment by promoting positive behaviour and encouraging social interactions among peers.
* Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and resources to enhance the learning experience.
* Maintain clear communication with teachers, parents, and other professionals regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise.
* Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to special education and child development.
Skills
* Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or other disabilities.
* Strong teaching skills with the ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs.
* Knowledge of special education practices and principles.
* Experience in toddler care is an advantage.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
* A compassionate approach towards working with individuals with disabilities, demonstrating patience and understanding.
