Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to recruit a full time Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist or Specialist Doctor to work in the Bournemouth and Christchurch area.
The post is based in the coastal town in the southeast of Dorset. The post holder will work within the Bournemouth and Christchurch core CAMHS team alongside a substantive Consultant and a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive community-based services to young people up to the age of 18 registered with general practitioners within the area.
As a senior professional, your role will include activities supporting both direct clinical contacts and service delivery. You may be asked to take part in the On-call rota unless an exemption is made following discussion with Medical Director / Deputy Medical Director.

Responsibilities
Main duties of the job include working as part of an outreach-focused multidisciplinary mental health team and collaborating with colleagues from Social Services, Education, and other NHS trusts. There is scope to take up posts within Medical Leadership Team including Medical Education for 1 or 2 PA if a non-clinical role is of interest. The post may involve participation in the on-call rota unless exempted.

Qualifications
Essential
* General medical qualification (e.g., MBBS or equivalent) and Licence to Practise.
* MRCPsych or recognised equivalent (e.g., membership of a psychiatry college in another country).
* Must be in possession or within 6 months of possession of a CCT in Psychiatry or on Specialist Register in Psychiatry.
* Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician approval or ability to obtain approval before starting post.
Desirable
* Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
* Additional clinical qualification.
* Experience of medicine outside psychiatry (e.g., general practice, medicine).
* Teaching experience and wide range of specialist/sub-specialist experience within NHS or comparable service.
Clinical Skills & Experience
* Excellent knowledge in specialty with evidence of multidisciplinary team involvement.
* Excellent clinical skills using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
* Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA; able to make decisions based on evidence and experience with input from others.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* For Specialist post: a minimum of twelve years of clinical working experience post-qualification and four years of postgraduate training (or equivalent) with at least two years in a psychiatry specialty training program or as a fixed-term specialty trainee in Psychiatry.
Other Requirements
* UK Registration: Applicants must have current UK professional registration.
* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act requirements.
