Exciting 12-Month Secondment Opportunity: Deputy Divisional Director of Operations
Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We are thrilled to announce a unique 12-month secondment opportunity for four dynamic and motivated individuals to join our divisional teams as Deputy Divisional Directors of Operations. We have 4 positions available across 3 of our Divisions.

About The Role
As a Deputy Divisional Director of Operations, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and strategic initiatives within the division. This is a fantastic chance to gain invaluable experience, develop your leadership skills, and make a significant impact on our organisation.

Main duties of the job

* Urgent Care & Medicine Division - Directorate 1 – ED (Paediatrics and Adults) and Acute Medicine (including UTC and Medical SDECs)
* Surgery and TACC Division - Directorate 3 – Theatres, Anaesthetics, Critical Care, Pain, Critical Care Outreach Team and Surgery (General Surgery, Vascular, UGI, LGI, Urology, Colorectal, Breast)
* Surgery and TACC Division - Directorate 4 – T&O and Plastics (include Dermatology), Head and Neck (Ophthalmology, ENT, Oral & Maxillofacial, Audiology)

Skills
Essential criteria

* Ability to oversee and interpret performance targets of specialties
* Good communication skills covering oral and written skills in formal and informal situations
* Demonstrates an ability to network and collaborate across health and social care settings
* Ability to assess a broad range of complex information quickly and accurately including finance activity, clinical and technical service data
* Ability to provide strategic leadership to senior clinical teams
* A clear understanding of the components of Clinical Governance and how these contribute to an integrated quality service

Desirable criteria

* Knowledge of key national policy issues within services

Experience
Essential criteria

* Operational experience
* Significant experience of working at a senior operational management level within the NHS
* Successful track record of managing change in a complex environment
* Experience of service redesign and development of services to support continual improvement and efficiency
* Highly developed financial and business management skills

Desirable criteria

* Knowledge and understanding of NHS policy and of key changes in the NHS

Qualifications
Essential criteria

* Master's degree in leadership, management or relevant subject or equivalent (or able to demonstrate equivalent level of experience)
* Evidence of continuing personal development
* Management qualification or equivalent experience
