Project & Sales Support Engineer
Reports to: Operations Director
Location: Guildford, UK (with occasional global travel)
Role Purpose
Bandweaver Technology Ltd is seeking a motivated and commercially aware engineer with 1–3 years of relevant industry experience to join our UK operations team.
This hybrid role bridges project engineering and internal sales support, providing exposure to technical system delivery, commercial bid support and customer interaction. The position is ideally suited to an engineer who has gained early-career experience in a technical, engineering or industrial environment and is now looking to broaden their skills across both engineering execution and commercial support.
The role offers structured development and may evolve toward either a technical engineering pathway or a sales-focused pathway, depending on individual strengths and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Support, Account Management & Commercial Responsibilities
* Provide technical review of customer specifications, enquiries and tender documentation
* Support preparation of proposals, technical submissions, costings and bid documentation
* Assist with scope clarification and commercial risk identification
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within Salesforce CRM, including:
* Opportunity tracking
* Enquiry logging
* Pipeline updates
* Order booking and forecast updates
* Support pipeline reporting and internal commercial tracking
Account & Customer Interface Responsibilities
* Manage smaller, lower-complexity or repeat customer accounts under the guidance of the Operations Director and Sales team
* Act as primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring timely technical and commercial responses
* Support customer relationship development through regular communication and follow-up
* Handle incoming enquiries and coordinate internally to provide accurate and timely responses
* Act as the direct customer interface during periods when members of the sales team are travelling or otherwise unavailable
* Support customer meetings, presentations and technical demonstrations
* Identify potential upselling or cross-selling opportunities within managed accounts
This responsibility is intended to grow over time as the individual develops commercially and technically.
Project Engineering & Delivery
* Participate in contract review and order booking
* Contribute to system design and engineering documentation
* Support selection of instrumentation and third-party components
* Assist in system integration and FAT preparation/execution
* Produce technical documentation (manuals, diagrams, specifications)
* Provide structured after-sales technical support
Project Coordination
* Support project planning and tracking
* Maintain documentation and reporting tools
* Interface with customers and internal teams
* Coordinate with Shanghai R&D and product teams
Person Specification
Experience
Essential:
* Minimum 1–3 years’ experience in a relevant engineering, technical support, system integration or industrial environment
* Experience contributing to technical documentation or project delivery
* Exposure to customer interaction or cross-functional team working
Desirable:
* Experience supporting proposals, tenders or commercial teams
* Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
* Exposure to industrial control environments (PLC, SCADA, Modbus etc.)
* Experience with fibre optic technologies (advantageous but not required)
Qualifications
* Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, Telecoms, Automation or similar
* (HND/BTEC with relevant experience also considered)
