As a Senior Production Engineer at Collins Aerospace, you will develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. You would apply your skills and experience to develop, test, modify, and create solutions through a collaborative effort with various teams. Key Responsibilities: Engagement: Deputise in the absence of the ME/PE Mgr in support of GEMBA initiatives. Act as a focal point for the Production Engineering team to flex the resources to overcome assigned tasks. Coach, review and guide the work of other manufacturing engineering professionals. Manufacturing: Provide long-term strategic support to positively impact on operational results. Drive continuous development of procedures that have a major impact on operational results. Innovate & implement manufacturing techniques/tooling to maximise machining efficiency, RFT performance and improve product quality. Programming: Maintain an advanced knowledge of machining/fabrication principles enabling the programming capability across multiple commodities. Stay current and up to date with technological developments in the market, including both training and equipment options. Quality Assurance: Ensure all work adheres to approved data & manufacturing standards. Analyse various data sources to assist in RCCA using the pareto principle. Support training across Operations and drive accountability of competency reports. Perform regular layered audits/line walks to validate impact and gain feedback. Collaboration: Communicates with parties both internally and externally of own department. Works to influence cross-functional parties regarding policies, practices and procedures. Collaborate with cross functional teams to optimise manufacturing efficiency, including identifying Risks and Opportunities for business improvements. Continuous Improvement: Manage moderate to complex projects or processes aimed at driving efficiency activities. Document activities in accordance with the C.O.R.E system. REQUIRED SKILLS City and guilds qualifications or a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in assembly manufacturing environment. Experience in a variety of manufacturing techniques; machining & fabrication. Prior experience in a low batch/high mix machining environment – aerospace or similar industry preferred. Previous experience in CNC Programming, increasing machining efficiency and project work. Familiarity with machining environments. Preferred Skills & Experience Aerospace manufacturing experience Lean Manufacturing: Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Microsoft Office: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to document and report on performance. Process Improvement: Experience in leading or supporting process improvement projects. LOCAL INFORMATION • This role reports to – Manufacturing & Production Engineering Manager • Travel requirement – 10% • Hours of Work – Flexible hours – 39 hours per week o Mon-Thurs: 07:30-18:00 o Fri: 07:30-14:00 Why Join Us?
