About the role
The Senior Technology Contract Manager for Services and Hardware, will lead the management and optimization of technology service and hardware contracts across the organization. This role ensures that contractual commitments deliver maximum value and that cost efficiencies are achieved through proactive governance and strategic use of value levers such as service credit management, performance monitoring, and commercial optimization. The role will report to the Head of Asset & Contract Management and will manage one Technology Contract Manager, working closely with IT service owners, Procurement, and Legal teams to maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
* Contract Oversight & Governance
o Manage the lifecycle of technology service and hardware contracts, ensuring compliance and alignment with business strategy and goals.
o Partner with IT service owners on contract performance, applying levers such as service credits and penalties to preserve value.
o Maintain accurate records of contractual obligations, renewals, and performance metrics.
* Value Optimization
o Implement strategies to maximise value from existing contracts, including cost reduction and performance improvement.
o Drive commercial optimization through benchmarking, renegotiation, and consolidation opportunities.
o Ensure effective management of service credits and other contractual remedies.
* Vendor & Stakeholder Management
o Build strong relationships with technology service providers and hardware vendors.
o Collaborate with IT service owners to understand operational requirements and ensure contracts support service delivery.
o Act as the escalation point for contractual disputes and resolution.
* Risk Management
o Assess and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
o Work closely with Legal and Procurement to review and negotiate terms that protect the organization’s interests.
* Leadership
o Provide guidance and mentorship to team members involved in contract and vendor management.
o Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and commercial excellence.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Essential:
o Proven experience in managing technology service and hardware contracts within a large, complex organization.
o Strong understanding of contract governance, performance management, and value levers (e.g., service credits, SLAs, KPIs).
o Excellent negotiation skills and ability to deliver cost efficiencies.
o Familiarity with contractual language and risk mitigation strategies.
o Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capabilities.
* Desirable:
o Experience in retail or technology-driven environments.
o Knowledge of IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
o Professional certifications in contract management or procurement.
