We are a small family owned business that has been trading since 1967. We are suppliers in specialist tape and packaging solutions to the manufacturing, aerospace and printing industries amongst others.
The warehouse is based in Letchworth. There is parking on site and the applicant is required to have a full driving license and means of transport.
The Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. Key duties typically include loading and unloading shipments, moving stock around the warehouse, maintaining accurate inventory records, packing and labeling products, adhering to health and safety regulations, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse environment. Strong physical stamina, attention to detail, teamwork skills, and reliability are essential qualities for this role.
Roles and responsibilities include:
* In-take of all deliveries and cross checking paperwork, storing items in correct warehouse zones
* Preparing orders by pulling materials from stock, packing boxes, placing completed orders in the despatch area.
* Organising production orders for slitting, including calculating stock to be used
* Operating slitting machine - in-house training given
* Ensuring all orders are weighted and labelled correctly
* Booking in carrier pick ups
* Booking out general post with franking machine
* Slitting machine general maintenance and blade changing
* Operation of warehouse pallet trucks and forklift
* Preserve a safe and clean work environment by keeping warehouse and storage clean and tidy, including recycling of materials
* Liaising with the office team regarding special requirements and customer orders
* Responding to internal phone enquiries
* Operation of stock system (Tetra 2000 system - Unix) for stock checking
* Stock level assessment
* Applying quality control procedures (ISO 9001)
* Ad hoc duties from time to time including building and garden maintenance
Training for basic systems will be supplied in-house. Opportunities for career development can be discussed at the interview stage.
