Job overview Ashford & St Peter's Hospitals are expanding their Enhanced Therapeutic and Observation Care Service (ETOC) and are recruiting for Enhanced Care Senior Mental Health Nurse (Band 6). Reporting to the Enhanced Care Lead successful candidates will provide a high standard of individualised direct patient care for those requiring an enhanced care plan. Work closely with all specialist teams such as Psychiatric Liaison Team, ward/unit teams and wider MDT to deliver direct patient care in a variety of settings across the Trust, including Urgent Care, Older Person's Care and Paediatrics. Applicants will need to have current NMC registration, a minimum of 12 months experience in an acute mental health setting Advert · To provide a high standard of individualised patient care reflecting individual needs that involves relatives/carers as appropriate · To be responsible for the co-ordination, assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for people with mental health problems in the inpatient setting. · To support and direct Enhanced Care Mental Health Nurses and Enhanced Care Support Workers in the care of ETOC patient. · Reporting to the Enhanced Care Lead and Urgent Care Matrons to participate in developing plans of care to meet in-patient individual mental health needs in collaboration with Psychiatric Liaison Team LT and department/ward staff. · To promote therapeutic relationships which take account of the patient’s customs, values and spiritual beliefs and facilitate dignity, independence and choice. · To assist staff in on-going risk assessment of patients. · To participate in promoting effective communication within and between the patient’s immediate care team and the wider multi-disciplinary team (MDT) providing care. · Enable the provision of evidence-based assessment and treatment that incorporates cultural preferences, health beliefs, behaviours and traditional practices as well as respecting differences in relation to gender, sexuality, ethnicity, religion and disability.
