About Future Horizons Science and Technology Naturals:
FHS&T’s remit is to pursue and build strategic advantages in science and technology to deliver growth in key verticals, enabling our brands/BUs to take future leadership positions through deep human understanding and trusted science. The group translates new scientific approaches into new R&D capabilities.
The Naturals & Green Science platform focuses on building a cross-Haleon emerging science & technology roadmap, targeting Horizon 3 naturals & green science category-defining innovations via early-stage science & technology identification, partnership, and de-risking, especially in areas like systemic inflammation, cellular aging, gut & mental health, and mobility.
The Role of the Principle Scientist:
* Owns the portfolio of science & technology partnerships for Horizon 3 Naturals & Green Science.
* Develops strategies to engage, advocate, and define evolving IP, regulatory, and medical landscapes.
* Guides the development of trusted science in Horizon 3 Naturals & Green Science API solutions, integrating category opportunities.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement the Horizon 3 naturals & green science technology roadmap, setting strategy and delivering prioritized building blocks, IP strategy, and technology into consumer products.
* Build and manage the external ecosystem, leading external leverage, technology acquisition, and partnership strategies.
* Lead industry consortia and advocacy plans in unregulated spaces, exploring new solutions, funding mechanisms, and engagement approaches.
* Identify and develop future-proof capabilities supporting natural & green science initiatives, from micro-labs to pilot scale.
* Establish thought leadership and influence strategies in new naturals & green science, including regulatory and medical advocacy.
* Facilitate knowledge exchange within the platform and across FHS&T, building a network of functional experts to support opportunities.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or Biological Sciences. Degrees in Herbal Medicines, Ayurveda, or traditional Asian medicines are a plus.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in FMCG or healthcare sectors, with research in herbal ingredients, extraction, standardization, mode of action, and clinical/pre-clinical studies. Global experience in consumer science research, understanding consumer needs, and product validation. Expertise in behavioral science, habit formation, and strategic thinking. Leadership and influencing skills.
Additional Details:
U.S. specific: Competitive salary range $121,168 to $163,933 plus an 18% bonus. Benefits include 401(k), tuition reimbursement, parental leave, healthcare, and performance bonuses.
