As an integral part of the finance team, the successful Finance Officer will provide high-quality bookkeeping and transactional support to ensure the smooth running of financial operations. This role requires accuracy, reliability, and a strong understanding of accounting principles within a structured environment. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and update financial records on accounting system tailored to charitable operations. Monitor daily financial transactions and ensure accuracy across all accounts. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial data and records. Support the preparation of year-end reports, including account reconciliations and data entry. Organise and manage source documents and financial files in line with internal procedures. Use spreadsheets, databases, and charity-specific accounting software to carry out financial tasks. Assist local branches with digital donation platforms and troubleshoot related queries. Prepare and process payments accurately and on time. Respond to payment-related queries from internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with finance and administrative teams to support reporting and data collection. Attend internal and external meetings, contributing to discussions and ensuring deadlines are met. Provide general administrative support to senior staff as required. Essential Skills & Experience: Proven experience in accounting or financial administration, ideally within a structured organisation or regulated environment. Proficiency in computerised accounting systems, with the ability to quickly adapt to bespoke platforms. Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Office applications. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a professional and collaborative approach. Understanding of internal controls and compliance frameworks, ensuring accuracy and accountability in financial processes.
