Following the retirement of our current Practice Manager, we are now looking for a manager with excellent interpersonaland leadership skills to lead our friendly practice.

The successful candidate will beproactive with operational skills and experience, along with the ability toidentify opportunities and develop, implement and maintain systems andprocesses. The role involves supportingthe Partnership in strategic planning and practice management, ensuringcompliance with CQC requirements and fulfilling all contractualobligations.

Although General PracticeManagement experience is desirable, we do welcome applications from candidateswithout General Practice experience who can demonstrate that they have thetransferable skills required.

Main duties of the job

The job holder will oversee the efficient and safe operation of the Practice, leading all aspects of its management. Main areas of work will include strategic planning, human resources, finance, organisational structure and services, premises management, information technology, clinical governance, quality and performance management as well as health and safety.

The individual will also be team focused, providing support and guidance to the team and encourage an all-inclusive working environment to enhance and improve services.


About us

Fairfield Park Health Centre is a well-established partner owned practice located in a purpose-built surgery on the north side of Bath, with beautiful views across the city, caring for a population of 14,600 patients.

We are part of the Bath Independent Primary Care Network, which gives the successful candidate support from the other Practice Managers and PCN Manager.


Job responsibilities

Patient services: maintaining effective systems for the smoothday to day running of the Practice.

Strategic development and financial planning of the practice:ensuring opportunities for the development of the practice are maximised.

Maximising income streams and ensuring cost efficiencies for thepractice

Human Resource Management, maintaining an effective overview ofand ensuring compliance with HR legislation.Ensuring all staff have the appropriate level of training to enable themto carry out their individual roles and responsibilities effectively

Leadership and management of practice staff; ensuring acohesive, stable and well-motivated workforce.

Healthand safety, risk assessments and compliance with mandatory training.

Ensuring Care Quality Commission compliance.

Managing contracts for services i.e., ensuring the practice iscompliant with health and safety/fire regulations.

Coordinating the reviewing and updating of all practice policiesand procedures.

Leading change and continuous improvement initiatives;coordinating all projects within the practice.

Supporting the team to reach QOF targets.

Ensuring the practice maintains compliance with its NHScontractual obligations.

The management of the premises, including health and safetyaspects such as risk assessments and mandatory training.

Managing the practice IT system, delegating staff to act asadministrators. Ensuring compliance with IT security and overseeing day to daycompliance with GDPR

Planning and monitoring income and cash flow to ensure income ismaximised.

Act as the primary point of contact for NHS(E), ICB, communityservices, suppliers and other external stakeholders.


Person Specification


Experience

* Experience of working in a management role
* Experience of working with the general public
* Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams
* Experience of working in General Practice;
* CQC experience


Qualifications

* Good standard of Education preferably degree level in business or healthcare
* Good IT Skills
