We have a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Manager for a Residential Children’s Service based in Newport, the salary is up to £50,000 based on 40 hours per week with on calls with the added bonus of being a new home that you can help to set up! The Registered Manager will take responsibility for the management of the Home and maintain exceptionally high standards, provide leadership, support and direction to their team. The successful candidate will also need to be able to work with professionals and stakeholders from a wide range of external agencies.
You will ensure staff members have training plans to meet the needs of young people and oversee the staff Rota and Annual Leave and maintain professional relationships with the team around the child, multi-agency partnerships and where appropriate parents and families. You will support Support Staff to assist Care Leavers to complete the preparation for Independence course and prepare for and attend relevant meetings regarding the Care Leavers.
You will ensure the general up keep of communal areas of the home to a high standard and ensure Young Person are supported in the planning and the delivery of a healthy eating plan including: dietary advice, shopping lists and budgets around a specific menu, food prep and cooking and support to maintain their accommodation; to do their laundry; cleaning and attend to their personal care and give Guidance around money management and budgeting
You will give guidance and signposting around careers, education and training and ensure Young Person are being supported by Key Staff around staying safe in terms of Mental Health, drug use and relationships and have Medical Compliance in place. You will set standards within the House so that the vision can be carried forward by the whole team ensuring that a comprehensive service is delivered in line with CIW regulations.
You will be leading and managing staff teams, promoting good conduct and best practice and a positive workplace culture and managing health, safety and security, including assessing, preventing and managing risk. You will manage, support and ensure the supervision of staff and assist in the recruitment of staff ensuring all appointments comply with safe recruitment best practice.
Essential
Level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) and will have Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
2 years’ proven experience in operational & service at a residential setting.
Experience of working with children with EBD in a residential setting
Experience of facilitating, organising, and directing & developing teams.
Management training & experience; Child related/Social care qualifications.
Have a clean driving license and access to own car
