Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. A strong background in patient care, particularly with seniors or those with specific needs such as Alzheimer's or dementia, is highly desirable.
Duties
* Assist clients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation
* Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition
* Support clients with mobility and physical exercises, including heavy lifting when necessary
* Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to ensure a safe environment
* Maintain accurate records of client care and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals
* Engage in light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living space for clients
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities when required
Requirements
* Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar environments is preferred
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families
* A valid driving licence
* Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges
* Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life
