Private Client Solicitor – Future Head of Department
Salary: Up to £70,000 DOE
Experience: NQ+
OVERVIEW
A well-established and close-knit law firm in the heart of Cheltenham are seeking a Private Client Solicitor to join and help shape the future of its Private Client Department. This is a rare opportunity for a driven individual to step into a role with clear progression into Head of Department, working within a supportive team and handling high-quality work for a loyal client base.
The firm boasts a strong reputation locally, a friendly working culture, and an excellent pipeline of instructions, particularly from HNW clients. You’ll be joining a collaborative team, currently consisting of a solicitor and a paralegal, with the full backing of the firm to grow and lead the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manage a varied and high-quality caseload of private client matters, including: Probate and estate administration, Will drafting, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Inheritance tax planning, Court of Protection applications
* Provide clear, empathetic, and practical advice to clients.
* Contribute to business development and the growth of the department.
* Build strong client relationships and uphold the firm’s excellent local reputation.
* Support and collaborate with existing team members to develop and enhance department capabilities.
ABOUT YOU
* Ideally 3+ years PQE, although strong NQ+ candidates will be considered.
* Confident in handling wills, probate, LPAs, and estate planning work.
* Experience dealing with high-net-worth individuals is highly desirable.
* Strong interpersonal and client care skills.
* Enthusiastic about taking on future leadership responsibilities and developing a department.
