Our Shift Leader role offers a competitive rate of pay starting from £14.76 per hour, increasing to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location. You will join a team focused on delivering a great shopping experience for customers and supporting store operations.
Policy note: new colleagues join with a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week; roles may also be available with a minimum of 12 hours per week if requested.
Responsibilities
* Work in a fast-paced retail environment with variety
* Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well-stocked store that exceeds customer expectations
* Be there for customers, listening to them and helping ensure they leave with what they came for
* Coach colleagues and provide feedback to the team to improve service
* Guide and support colleagues in-store, maintaining a safe place to work and shop
* Understand store performance and assist managers in actions to improve operations
* Lead from the front and set a positive example for the team

Availability and hours
The availability window shows periods during the week we’d like you to be available to work. We will schedule contracted hours within these times and provide 3 weeks’ notice of shifts. We are flexible if your available times are close to, but not exactly, those advertised.
Availability example (times may vary):
* Sun 14:00–23:00
* Mon 14:00–23:00
* Wed 14:00–23:00
* Fri 05:30–14:30
You will be responsible for
* Coordinating the store team to deliver an easy, fuss-free shopping experience for customers
* Supporting colleagues to deliver daily priorities and take regular breaks
* Opening and closing the store and completing duty cover with safety in mind
* Being the go-to person for day-to-day queries in the absence of a manager
* Keeping the store clean, tidy and well-presented
* Supporting managers with seasonal, community and charity events
* Contributing to a positive, inclusive team atmosphere and providing great customer service
* Keeping the team informed on communications and updates
* Staying knowledgeable about store performance and seeking improvements to operations
* Following health and safety procedures and recognizing colleagues for great service
