While (like many places) we face a number of big challenges, we also have a deeply positive culture of self-improvement, a healthy economic outlook, and great partnerships – plus of course the invaluable experience, expertise, assets, and networks of our five predecessor councils. While we’re making excellent progress in a number of areas, there’s always more to do. Priority areas for this portfolio include building on our recent successful investment into Adult Social Care, developing a comprehensive strategic plan for housing, and capitalising on our excellent partner relationships.
