Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Technical Manager to look after and oversee the technical and regulatory aspects of New Product Introduction (NPI) at Record UK. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient integration of new products into our business, while also providing technical expertise and training to both internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
1) Manage the technical and regulatory aspects of the NPI in the Record UK business.
2) Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and define risk reduction strategies to ensure safe and compliant designs.
3) Provide internal and external support on all technical and regulatory aspects of our product offerings.
4) Deliver training to internal and external customers on all our product offerings and their respective performance characteristics.
5) Provide technical guidance at the customer design stage, and on existing designs.
6) Work with our affiliate companies to continually enhance product development and customer solutions.
7) Support industry associations in the review and writing of standards and supporting bulletins for powered doors and entrance control equipment.
Essential Criteria
1)Technical Qualifications & Standards Knowledge:
1. ADSA accreditation to EN 16005, BS 7036 (1996 & 2014), BS EN 16361, BS EN 17352, and relevant normative standards.
2) Strong understanding of UK and devolved Building and Fire Regulations, British, European, and international standards, and HSE regulations.
2. IOSH-based qualification (desirable).
3) Technical Expertise:
3. Advanced mechanical and electrical/electronic knowledge of pedestrian automatic door systems, including powered revolving doors and entrance control equipment.Ability to interpret schematics, technical documents, CAD drawings, and project details.
4. Methodical, analytical problem-solving approach with a solutions-driven mindset.
5. Communication & Leadership:
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
4)Proven ability to train, mentor, and develop others.
7. Experience supporting sales teams with technical input at enquiry and quotation stages.
8. Able to represent the company on ADSA Technical Committees and influence industry standards.
5)Collaboration & Representation:
9. Comfortable engaging with UK and European design and manufacturing departments.
10. Capable of leading accident investigations and delivering evidence-based technical reports to customers and legal teams.
11. Commercially aware, customer-focused, and eager to continually enhance personal and team capability.
